The Town of Aurora's volunteer programs provide an opportunity for volunteers to assist town employees in delivering fitness and aquatics programs, special events, camps and children and youth programs.

Special Events Volunteer |
Whether you're looking to gain experience, learn new skills, help others in the community, meet new people, fulfill high school required hours or simply have some fun, there is a volunteer position at a special event that's right for you.
In 2019 we had more than 3,000 hours of volunteer time from individuals and community organizations. There are many special events that are looking for volunteers. Aquatics Volunteer |
Aquatics volunteers are needed at the Aurora Family Leisure Complex and the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex. Aquatic Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age and have their Bronze Medallion certification. As an aquatics volunteer, you can gain valuable work experience and learn new skills while having fun. You will also earn discounts towards Aquatics courses. The first step to become an Aquatic Volunteer is to register for an Aquatic Volunteer Orientation. |
Club Aurora Fitness Centre Instructor Apprenticeship Program |
The Club Aurora Fitness Centre provides high quality training programs to assist in a volunteer's personal development. This training includes a general orientation, program content, health and safety, and emergency training; all designed to prepare our volunteers for employment in the future. What you need to volunteer to be a Fitness Instructor Apprentice
What do you get? Every hour worked will be documented in a logbook and can be used towards your certification experience. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in fun special events. For more information on this program, please contact the Fitness Centre at 905-726-4764. |
Aurora Museum & Archives Volunteer |
Join the team at the Aurora Museum & Archives and play a vital role in preserving our community's unique history! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including collections work, exhibition development, digitization, program and event support. Whether you want to dive into research that uncovers the stories of Aurora or use your photography skills to capture the essence of our artifacts and exhibits, there’s a place for you here. Volunteering at the Aurora Museum & Archives is a hands-on way to connect with our town’s past while making a real difference in how it’s shared with future generations. |
Aurora Town Square Programs & Events Volunteer |
Aurora Town Square will feature many exciting programs and events all year long for participants of all ages. Aurora Town Square will also host education programs, welcoming school groups to visit and participate in engaging and exciting activities. Volunteers will assist Town staff with various aspects including set-up, program and event facilitation, and clean-up once the program or event is over. We are looking for volunteers who are outgoing, energetic and have a passion for arts, culture and heritage. Volunteers will be working with staff and members of the public throughout each program or event, so will need to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Screening at their own cost.
