What Happens After I Apply?

After you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application.

  • Applications received by the closing date will be screened against the qualifications outlined in the job posting. Those selected will be invited to attend an interview. While all applications are welcome, only applicants considered for an interview will be contacted by email or phone – please check your email including junk/spam folders regularly.
  • Interviews are held with an interview panel consisting of the Hiring Manager, Human Resources and other relevant staff, as required. Interviews may be held in person or virtually and may also include skills testing or assessments. At times, additional interview rounds may take place.
  • At the completion of the interview stage, the selection process takes place by reviewing the results of the interviews and any required skills testing or assessments that have taken place. 
  • The successful candidate(s) will be notified that they have been selected as the finalist candidate(s) and references will be requested and contacted.
  • An offer of employment will be issued once references are complete. Offers may be conditional upon providing to the Town, at your own expense, a Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check among other conditions listed in the original job posting.
  • Prior to the new hire’s first day, an online onboarding program will be assigned which includes a welcome message and video, an overview of your new teammates along with the opportunity to complete new hire paperwork, review informational documents and upload other required information.
