Preschool Open Gym (Ages 0-5): Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult (16+) is required. Supervising adults are free and can attend with a maximum of 3 participants.

All Abilities Open Gym: (Ages 4+): Sensory aware sport drop-in, open to participants of all abilities. Children under the age of 10 must attend with a supervising adult (16+). Participants must attend with their own support.

Family Volleyball, Pickleball & Badminton (Ages 6+): A participating adult (16+) is required. Maximum of 3 participants per guardian. Guardians must pay the program fee.

Youth Basketball & Open Gym (Ages 12-17): Open to teens only.

Family Open Gym (Ages 6+): A participating adult (16+) is required. Maximum of 3 participants per guardian. Guardians must pay the program fee.

Gymnasium Drop-In Guidelines

The Town of Aurora’s highest priority is the health and safety of participants, staff and visitors. We ask that the following guidelines be adhered to for the safety of all users.

  • Drop-ins have strict capacities and age guidelines. Admission sales begin 15 minutes prior to the scheduled program start time on a first come, first served basis. No exceptions will be made.
  • Refunds for drop-in programs are available up to 15 minutes after the program start time.
  • Admission must be purchased in-person at the Customer Service Desk before participants may enter the courts. Due to high demand, participants are not permitted to pay and hold spots for others.
  • After purchasing admissions, participants will receive a wristband as proof of payment. Wristbands must be worn and be visible for the duration of the drop-in.
  • Children 8 years and younger must be supervised by a parent/guardian that is 16 years or older in all drop-ins.
  • Clean, indoor shoes are required. Close toed shoes must be worn.
  • Any music played must be kept to an appropriate volume and be acceptable for all facility users.
  • Food or drink is not permitted, with the exception of water.
  • The Town of Aurora is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • Participants are to use equipment respectfully, appropriately and safely at all times.
  • Where participants would like to engage in different sports, and based on space availability, the gymnasium can be divided into a maximum of two half courts. For safety reasons, volleyball nets will not be set-up during open gym sessions. Participants are welcome to pass and set the ball in designated areas.
  • All participants must respect the Community Code of Conduct and follow direction of program staff. If participants are not following guidelines and/or the Code of Conduct, staff may ask them to leave the program.
Adult Pickleball & Volleyball Pre-Registration Guidelines

Instructions - How to Register for Drop-In Activities on e-PLAY 

  • Pre-registration will be available in advance and up to 1 hour before the drop-in time, through the Town’s online program registration system.
  • Adult Pickleball - Registration dates and times are as follows. Available up to 8 days in advance for the upcoming week.
    • Residents: Registration will open online on Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
    • Non-Residents: Registration will open online on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
    • Example: For drop-in programs taking place the week of February 17 to 23 - resident registration will open on Friday, February 9 at 9:30 a.m. - non-resident registration will open on Sunday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Adult Volleyball - Registration dates and times are as follows. Available up to 6 days in advance for the upcoming week.
    • Residents: Registration will open online on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
    • Non-Residents: Registration will open online on Sundays at 9 a.m.
    • Example: For drop-in programs taking place the week of February 13 - resident registration will open on Wednesday, February 7 at 9 a.m. - non-resident registration will open on Sunday, February 11 at 9 a.m.
  • 10 ticket pricing is not available through pre-registration.
  • Players can set-up an account and register online at e-PLAY. All available sessions will be viewable online starting on February 1.
  • Limited spaces will be available for in-person admission to purchase on the day of the drop-in. In-person admissions will be available 15 minutes prior to the program start time, at the Customer Service Desk.
  • We are committed to providing fair and equitable access for all to enjoy our programs and services.
    • Effective Winter 2025 Schedule: Pre-registered spots will be held until 5 minutes after the start of the drop-in. After 5 minutes, pre-registered players may lose their spot as it will be released to drop-in admission. In the event that a player has lost their pre-paid spot, a credit for the missed class will be placed on their account.
    • Players who continually pre-register and do not attend scheduled sessions may be subject to penalties
Adult Pickleball (18+ years) Open Play Drop-Ins at the S.A.R.C.
  • Open to participants ages 18+ years. Each drop-in will have a capacity of 20 players.
  • Drop-ins are first come, first served, with admissions available through pre-registration (see “Adult Pickleball & Volleyball Pre-Registration Guidelines” accordion). A portion of spots in each drop-in will be available for on-the-spot admissions, beginning 15 minutes prior to program time.
  • Admission must be purchased ahead of time via e-PLAY or in-person at the Customer Service Desk.
  • All players must check in at the Customer Service Desk before entering the courts. Pre-registered players must check in by the program start time or their spot will be released to drop-in admission. Due to high demand, participants are not permitted to pay and hold spots for others.
  • Regular drop-in rates apply. Please note that 10 ticket pricing is not available through pre-registration.
  • Drop-ins will be staffed. Program staff are responsible for managing court rotations to ensure players receive fair and equitable time on the courts. No instruction will be provided. All skill levels are welcome.
  • Paddles will be provided for any players that do not have their own.
  • Players are asked to follow Pickleball Rules for Beginners and Drop-In Etiquette, posted below and in the gymnasium.
  • Players must leave the gymnasium at the end of the designated drop-in time.
  • For drop-ins on Monday evenings, admission sales will end 30 minutes prior to the end of the listed drop-in time. No admission sales or entry are permitted after that time.
