Central York Fire Services (CYFS) is proud to launch its ninth annual Stay Fire Smart campaign running now until August 31. Fire crews are visiting neighbourhoods in Newmarket and Aurora throughout the summer to educate residents on the importance of having and practicing a home escape plan and to remind them that it is the law to have working smoke alarms on every storey and carbon monoxide alarms outside all sleeping areas in a home.

Town supports local rugby club, partners in development of new artificial turf field

Aurora Town Council endorsed recommendations from staff for the Town to support the Aurora Barbarians Rugby Football Club in the development of a new artificial turf sports field and club house at Sheppard’s Bush. Please be advised that the Town will be resurfacing the road on Industrial Parkway North between St. John’s Sideroad and Wellington Street East.

The Town anticipates that the road closure will start on July 9th and re-open July 14th. The road closure on Industrial Parkway North will occur between 12:00a.m. to 5:00a.m. each evening.
