Starting November 15, winter overnight parking restrictions are in place, meaning there is no parking allowed on the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. until April 15, 2024. In addition, residents cannot park on the street while snow clearing operations are underway.

Parked cars can block the way for road maintenance equipment, which slows down snow clearing. These parking restrictions will be enforced regardless of the current weather or road conditions.

Bylaw officers will be issuing penalty notices to vehicles that are parked on the roadways overnight during the restricted hours. The penalty for each overnight parking offence is $50 and interfering with snow removal is

$75 per ticket.

Occasional Use on Street Parking Permits

Residents or visitors can apply online for up to 12 free parking passes per vehicle each year, which would allow you to park overnight on the street during the winter parking restriction time period. But be aware, permits are not valid or issued during active snow events, which would include the day(s) before, during, or after a major weather event or when plowing or salting is taking place. Penalty Notices issued from November 22 to December 15 can be paid for by donating a new, unwrapped toy or gift card to York Regional Police annual Toys for Tickets campaign. All the donations directly support families from our community who are in need. Toys must be brought to Aurora Town Hall, Access Aurora counter. Restrictions apply.
