Town of Aurora Hosts Community Garage Sale to Promote Sustainable Living

The Town of Aurora is thrilled to announce the return of the Community Garage Sale, an event aimed at promoting waste reduction and responsible decluttering practices.

The Community Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Aurora Community Centre Parking lot and is a rain or shine event. By selling items that are no longer needed, residents can declutter their spaces, reduce the demand for new production and minimize their environmental footprint.

"We're excited to once again offer a platform for our residents to engage in sustainable practices and make a tangible impact on the environment," said Mayor Tom Mrakas. "The Community Garage Sale not only helps you declutter your home but also reduces waste, promoting a culture of environmental responsibility. I encourage all residents to participate – whether you are looking to declutter your home or find hidden treasures, the Community Garage Sale promises to be a fun and eco-friendly event for everyone. Let’s come together, clear our clutter, and make way for new memories and connections.”

While participation in the Community Garage Sale is free, we kindly request a food donation in exchange for the use of the parking spots. All donated food will support the Aurora Food Pantry. Space is limited, so interested sellers are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
