Three Aurora events receive Festival & Events Ontario Top 100 Award

Three Town of Aurora events have been awarded a 2024 Top 100 Award, during the Festival & Events Ontario’s (FEO) Annual Conference “IMAGINE” in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Aurora events that won are Aurora’s Christmas Market, Aurora’s Haunted Forest and Aurora’s Multicultural Festival.

The FEO Top 100 Awards program recognizes Ontario’s leading source of quality festivals and events across the province. Community festivals and internationally recognized events were received for consideration in the fall of 2023 and were evaluated by an independent panel of judges. The events were assessed for their excellence in innovation, uniqueness, economic contribution to the community, and overall leadership.

“We are honoured to be recognized for three of our special events in the FEO Top 100. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, creativity and leadership of our Town staff, community organizations and volunteers, who put so much time and effort into making our events memorable and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you to FEO for these awards and to our community for continuously supporting our events,” says Aurora Mayor Tom Mrakas.

Over the span of eight event dates held for Aurora’s Christmas Market, Aurora’s Haunted Forest and Aurora’s Multicultural Festival, we had community involvement from more than 75 local small businesses, 35 professionally skilled performers, seven community groups and more than 180 volunteers.
