Fire Safety Tips:
Ontario law requires a homeowner to install and maintain working smoke alarms on every storey of a home and outside all sleeping areas. It is also law to have working carbon monoxide detectors outside sleeping areas. In the case of a garage fire, these may not be detected by the mandatory alarms inside the home. Central York Fire Services Chief Fire Prevention Officer, Ryan Schell recommends residents consider installing a Heat Alarm in garages and kitchens. Learn more in this video called Heat Alarms for your residential home (garage fires).
