The Town of Aurora’s Bylaw Services is proud to once again collaborate with York Regional Police for the annual Toys for Tickets campaign. From November 20 to December 13, 2024, individuals issued parking tickets in Aurora will have the opportunity to donate new, unwrapped toys or food items of equal or greater value in lieu of paying their fines.

This initiative aims to support the Holiday Heroes campaign, a charitable effort led by York Regional Police that assists children and families in need throughout Aurora and Newmarket.

“Our annual Toys for Tickets campaign is a wonderful way for residents to turn a parking ticket into an opportunity to help families in need during the holiday season,” said Mayor Tom Mrakas. “This initiative highlights the generosity of our community, and I’m proud that Aurora is once again supporting the Holiday Heroes campaign to brighten the holidays for children and families.”

Donations will be accepted at Aurora Town Hall (Access Aurora) until Friday, December 13. All donations must be accompanied by original receipts, and the value of the donated item must equal or exceed the amount of the parking ticket. Items must consist of new, unwrapped toys in their original packaging. Cash will not be accepted.
