NEWMARKET, Ontario, November 1, 2024 - Ontario's annual Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week runs from November 1 to 6. On Sunday, November 3, Daylight Saving Time officially comes to an end. Central York Fire Services (CYFS) reminds residents to turn back their clocks one hour and to use this routine as a time to check all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors - replace the batteries, clean and test each unit.

Fireworks are only permitted on Victoria Day and Canada Day weekends. Remember they are not allowed on public property, including parks, streets, and open spaces in Aurora. Additionally, fireworks can only be set off between dusk and 11 p.m. on these designated days. Let's ensure a safe and peaceful community for all.
