2024 Development Charge Study and By-law
On March 26, 2024 Council approved a new Development Charge By-law for the Town of Aurora.
Any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal under Section 14 of the Development Charges Act, in respect to the development charges by-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Municipality of the Town of Aurora on or before the 5th day of May, 2024. See notice of passing for details.

1 Rates for the Region of York and Education for Special Care Dwelling Units depend on the ability to be self-sustaining e.g. have independent culinary and sanitary facilities for exclusive use. Institutional rates apply where there is a lack of independent facilities while residential apartment rates apply when independent facilities exist.

The Town of Aurora applies the DC rates above to each unit, or square meter of GFA of property for development. Only statutory exemptions, reductions and credits apply. Final DC rates are only calculated upon the review of the final construction building permit drawings.
