Support of York Region’s position to protect Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine

Aurora Town Council on Tuesday adopted a motion that supports York Region’s position that proposed provincial boundary amendments to the Greenbelt and Oak Ridges Moraine are not required to build more housing in York Region. In November 2022, the Ontario Government put forward proposed amendments to the Green Belt Plan that would redesignate or remove 330 hectares of protected land in York Region for urban development....

The Ontario Government on Thursday announced an investment in the Aurora Seniors’ Centre to support its popular Walking Club that helps keep older adults active and engaged.

Be prepared for an emergency or power outage

At any time, an emergency or disaster could happen. Roads could be rendered impassible, supplies could become unavailable, power and services could be disrupted.

Everyone should be prepared to take care of themselves and their families for up to three days (72 hours), should an emergency or disaster happen. Even a severe winter storm could result in roads not being cleared for up to three days.

2023 Waste Management Calendar

The 2023 Waste and Recycling Calendars will be delivered to households via Canada Post by the third week in December.

Calendars can also be picked up at Aurora Town Hall startingTuesday, December 20.
